This is the first time a National Jamboree is being held in Northern Province and also coincides with 100 years of scouting in Jaffna. The theme of the Jamboree is "Friendship & Understanding".
Around 200 foreign scouts and leaders are expected. Nepal, India, Malaysia and Bangladesh have confirmed their participation, but Maldives is yet to confirm.
The campers arrived on February 20 and will be divided into four sub camps - Pidurutalagala, Namunukula, Rakwana and Samanala.
Adventure, skills, culture, environment, archaeology, traditional games, health and sustainable energy activities will conducted daily and the scouts who complete a number of activities required will be awarded.
The Closing ceremony will be on Friday (26) followed by the Arena Display depicting the history of scouting in Sri Lanka an a musical presentation by the Air Force.
