This conference in July will be able to connect both districts of Batticaloa and Trincomalee with the participation of nearly 100 to 150 tourists from various parts of the world.
This is a Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) initiative to develop tourism in Sri Lanka.
A meeting in this connection was held at the Batticaloa District Secretariat recently presided over by the Batticalao District Secretary P.S.M.Charls. The Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Affairs Janaka Sugadathasa, Additional Secretary to the Ministry, Heads of Departments also participated.
At this meeting, the Pasikuda tourist zone development and all department and local bodies connected with the initiative were issued instruction to accomplish their activities before July -2016.
These development activities include the construction of garages for vehicles, putting up conference halls, construction of the bridges, to provide Helicopter landing areas, footpaths for the use by the members of the public and also to provide rest rooms.
