An illegal haul of 621 kilograms of sea cucumbers was arrested with two persons by the Navy personnel at Kirimundalam, Kalpitiya on Wednesday (09th March).
The sea cucumbers, smuggled from India are estimated to be worth at least Rs.10 million. They had been made ready to be transferred ashore at the time of arrest.
Further investigations will be held by officials of the Assistant Fisheries Inspector's Office at Puttalam.
