“Although, few provinces including the Western province have already initiated the producing of organic fertilizer for the betterment of the people instead of using pesticides”, said the Western Province Chief Minister Isura Dewapriya.

He was addressing media yesterday (11th March) at the Department of Government Information.

According to the Chief Minister the protesting campaigns conducted island-wide for the fertilizer subsidy are unnecessary as there is a process in force to provide fertilizer for the farmers free of charge.

Western province minister Lalith Wanigarathne, and Sabaragamuwa province minister Ranjith Bandara also participated the occasion.
