Government has decided to re-launch the Sathosa wholesale complexes within the Northern region. The first such Warehouse complex was launched in Vavuniya.
Initiatives are already in progress to provide a more efficient service to the people of the Northern region via the Sathosa outlet. Accordingly measures were taken to re-launch the Sathosa Warehouse complexes after a lapse of 12 years, as Sathosa has become a viable venture.
The Sathosa Warehouse Complex of Vavuniya was opened by Minister Risath Bathiyuideen in the Thekkawatte area.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
