The Buddhist Association of Sri Lanka Navy has provided a part of the total financial requirement for the renovation work. The naval personnel of attached to the Northern Naval Command had a keen interest with regard to the renovation of the Chapel.

Sri Lanka Navy has rendered assistance to renovate the St. Anthony's Chapel in Jaffna. The church is located in the premises of SLNS Uththara. The church was completely renovated and a Holy Mass was held on Sunday (May 01). The Mass was conducted by Rv.Fr. Sunil Kumar Peiris with the participation of Catholic / Christian officers and sailors of Northern Naval Command.
