The decision has been reached by the Ministry of Higher Education to prevent the time consumption due to the postal applying process.

The applicants will be able to obtain the free of charge service from the island-wide “Nenasala” and other related institutions to fill their applications. Those who submit their applications properly will be confirmed via SMS or an e-mail.

And also the University Grants Commission (UGC) has simplified their handbook issued for the applicants since this year. A video clip that shows the correct path to fill the application has also been created by the UGC.  It could be watched through http://www.ugc.ac.lk

The online-registrations for the universities have been made compulsory since this year.
