    Strong windy conditions to continue Featured

    The Meteorological Department issuing a weather forecast today stated that the low pressure area affecting the country was moving away from the island, hence rainy conditions over the island is likely to reduce to some extent.

     

    However, strong wind conditions will continue for some more days. Heavy to very heavy falls (100-150 mm) are likely at several places, particularly in the North, North Central, North Western provinces., the forecast added. Showers or thunder showers will occur at time in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva Provinces and Galle and Matara Districts.

     

    There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (CDN)
