Minister of Child and Women affairs Chandrani Bandara has proposed to amend the duration of the National Early Childhood Care and Development week as 14th to 20th July in each year.
Earlier the week was implemented from 14th to 20th December each year. But, as this is the time period, which the financial year of the government is finished, many difficulties had to be faced in implementing respective programs fruitfully.
Hence, Considering the situation the proposal made by the Minister Bandara was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
