    June 10, 2016

Min Visithuru 2016, the ornamental fish and show tank competition and the exhibition organised by the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry along with the National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) will be held from August 5 to 7 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC).

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development State Minister Dileep Wedaarachchi said their main objective is to enhance the global access of ornamental fish and aquarium plant entrepreneurs from an international background.

Identifying new entrepreneurs willing to involve in the ornamental fish industry, introducing new ornamental fish species, creating good relationship among ornamental fish producers and developing the ornamental fish trade are the other aims the country has to achieve through the exhibition, he said.

The exhibition will be an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to be familiar with good market practices from the international market. It will be a platform to promote Sri Lankan products and services for the global market, he said.

President Maithripala Sirisena will open the exhibition. A prize giving will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, the minister said.
