Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Deputy Minister Karunaratne Paranavithana urged the public not be misled by rumours claiming about an occurrence of cracks on Ruwanweliseya.
The deputy minister said the Commissioner General of Archaeology, Senarath Dissanayake and the Chief Incumbent Thera of the Atamastanaya also confirmed that there was no damage to the Stupa.
He said various religious programmes will be held near Ruwanweliseya in line with the National Poson Festival.
