Naval personnel on-board Inshore Patrol Craft attached to Northern Naval Command assisted an Indian fishing dhow in Sri Lankan waters with five fishermen in distress yesterday (23rd June).
The dhow had experienced an engine failure while in the seas off Thondaimannar when the naval personnel reached the location.
Subsequently the Indian dhow was escorted to the Kankasanthrurai Harbor and the Indian fishermen were produced to Jaffna Additional Directorate of Fisheries for further action.
