Strong winds situation prevailing over some places in the island is expected to decrease gradually by today, Met. Department said.
However, strong winds (around 60 kmph) can be expected in the south western part and hilly areas of the island and in the western and southern sea areas today.
A few showers also expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Jaffna, Galle and Matara districts while showers or thundershowers are expected at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces after 2.00 p.m.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.
