    First ever Mobile RO Water Treatment Plant opened

    Sri Lanka Navy deployed its first mobile Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant for public use recently in Hambegamuwa.

    The new mobile RO plant will serve the drinking water requirement of about 3,000 people in the area.

     

    The plant has a storing capacity of 10,000 liters of water and this will enable to supply the regular water requirements of the people.

     

    As per the directives of the Commander of Navy, five more such water treatment plants will be installed in the region where Chronic Kidney Disease is widespread. In addition the Navy’s Research and Development Unit is also in the process of producing a Solar Power water treatment Plant and Salt Water Treatment Plant to purify sea water for drinking purposes.
