The company invested Rs 250 mln to purchase the machinery while the government has spent Rs 700 mln for the construction of buildings to install machinery as well as for other development work. 75% of the construction work is over.
By using the old machinery the company was able to produce only 1.7 mln 750 gram packets per month and this is only 80 % of the demand said the Chairman.
With the new machinery the production capacity will increase between 15-20%. The company is expecting a production of 3.5mln packets per month. This will result in a surplus of 750 metric tons and the company has plans to make Thriposha biscuits, crackers for which experiments are being done at present.
