The Cabinet Committee on Economic Management has decided to grant the fertilizer subsidy to tea, rubber and coconut smallholders who own a cultivated land in extent of one hectare or less in proportion to the land cultivated annually.
The financial subsidy is as follows Rs 15000 for tea Rs 9000 for coconut and Rs 5000 for rubber.
Plantation Industries Minister Naveen Dissanayaka has proposed to increase the current extent of land from 01 hectare to 02 hectares to benefit more cultivators under the subsidy scheme was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
