Accordingly, a residential training course for the orientation of newly recruited 1035 graduate and diploma holding teachers is held under two stages at five centers in the island. The first phase of this program is held from 17th September to 07th October with the participation of 600 new teachers and the second phase is scheduled to be held from 10th October to 30th October with the participation of 435 teachers. After the training they will be directed for duties in the schools.

The Ministry of Education informed relevant teachers to report to the assigned center for the course as soon as they receive the calling letters. The course is held at the Maharagama National College of Education, Kandy Mahaweli National College of Education, Veyangoda Siyane National College of Education, Kalutara Pasdunrata National College of Education and Vavuniya National College of Education.
