Ministry of Provincial Council and Local Government recently distributed 42 garbage management vehicles to local government institutions under the ‘Puraneguma’ project.
‘Puraneguma’ is a project implemented to assist low-income local government authorities with the funds provided by the Asian Development Bank.
Accordingly, 28 Garbage Compactors and 14 Skid Steer Motors were distributed to 38 local government institutions by Minister Faizer Mustapha. Each Garbage Compactor is valued at Rs. 12.6 million while each Skid Steer Motor is valued at Rs. 4.4 million. The total amount spent for the purchase of these vehicles is about Rs. 417 million.
