Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in most part of the island, particularly in the Eastern, Uva, Northern, North-central, Central and Western provinces, it said.

 Fairly heavy falls (more than 75mm) and fairly strong winds can be expected in some places.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
