Many of those projects are now going on and it takes a few years to complete them with the feasibility studies as instant projects will never gain the sustainable results for the country or people. On the other hand the investors do not agree to invest on projects which do not have formal and viable reports of their feasibility studies.
At present having investments for the development projects with the involvement of the government has became an issue as it has already passed the credit limits. Because of that now we are targeting the private investors and the profits generated by our affiliated institutions during the completion of the development projects which have been identified as essential for the country's future.
At present all institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development have already uplifted as profitable ventures. Now they are not depending on the treasury or the public taxes and all of them were developed during the last two years. This is another step forward in the mission which we did in the ministries of Power and Energy, Science, Technology and Research .
We have already planned number of projects to launch in this year too. Accordingly we hope to launch 07 new Light Rail Transits (LRT) and water transport system while using the water resources with the aim of developing the country's transport system. We are also planning to develop the multiple transport centers while improving their facilities and build new tunnel systems and manholes aiming tocontrol floods.
The Megapolis Ministry is planning to launch "Sukitha Purawara" program in 2017. Logistic City, Commercial City, Administrative City, Techno City and Strategic city We have already launched 70 development projects in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Gampaha under the program of "Sukhitha Purawara" and its second phase will be launched in this year along with the the funds of Rs 2750 million.
