Attention was paid towards providing necessary facilities to Mental Health Specialists and extending Mental Health Service to the rural areas at this discussion. It was also decided to provide a special training to the doctors and the nurses on Mental Health Services and a group of 100 officers will be trained first. Students to be recruited to the proposed University of nursing will also be given training on mental diseases.

Health Secretary Anura Jayawickreme, Director General of Health Services (Act.) Dr. Jayasundara Bandara, and the Deputy Director of Health Services Dr. Lakshmi Somatunghe were also present.
