The program themed ‘Rata Wenuwen Pibidena Pulathisi Yauwanaya’ will be held at the Polonnaruwa Royal College premises with the Participation of about 3,000 young men and women from around the Polonnaruwa district.
The closing ceremony of the event will be held on 12th March under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
“During this youth –oriented initiative, the participants will be apprised on the development programs being carried out by the government and about the programs implemented by the President’s Office and expect to take the contribution from the participating youth to successfully implement those programs in an efficient manner and thereby create a powerful Sri Lanka (Balagathu Sri Lankawak)”, said the State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Niroshan Perera.
He was addressing media this morning (7th March) at the Department of Government Information.
According to the State Minister, the program will be supported by the Ministries of National Policies and Economic Affairs, Vocational Training, and Social Empowerment, the institutions under the President’s Office, the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat and affiliated institutions while the financial assistance is received from the private sector.
Prevention of Drugs, Sustainable environmental protection, Nutritious foods and agriculture, Prevention of Kidney diseases, and Child protection are the key areas to be discussed at this program.
