    Six RO plants declared open

    Sri Lanka Navy opened six RO plants installed at Aluketiyawa Primary School in Mahiyangana, Abepura Vidyalaya, Nagadeepa Track 1 Primary School, Dikyaya Vidyalaya, Andaulpatha National School in Badulla and Army 62 Division in Galkulama, Padaviya on Tuesday (28th March).

    The facilities are capable of providing safe drinking water for 1,878 students, 134 teachers and 1,724 families.

     

    The RO plant installed at Army 62 Division in Galkulama, will provide clean drinking water for 325 Army personnel along with 320 families residing in the area.

     

    The financial allocations for these projects were made by the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease.

     

    Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Navy has installed a total of 176 RO facilities across the country to date, facilitating over 81,619 families and 64,581 school children with safe drinking water provided free of charge.
