    Indian investment to set up 900 Renal Dialysis Centers island-wide

    About 900 Renal Dialysis centers will be established island-wide with an investment from India to face the renal disease which is highly prevalent around the country, said Health Minister Rajith aSenarathne.

    The minister recently participated at the opening ceremony of the Renal Dialysis centers and treatment units at Kebathigollawa and Padaviya Base hospitals. He also observed the renal treatment unit at Medawachchiya hospital built at a cost of Rs. 45 million while another Rs. 50 million was spent for the equipment.

     

    The minister assured to provide necessary doctors and nurses for the renal units at Medawachchiya, Padaviya and Kebathigollawa hospitals.

     


    He added that the mobile renal dialysis service will be set up in the future while 250-bed renal treatment hospital is being built in Polonnaruwa.
