A US Company has proposed to manufacture drugs using blood plasma in Sri Lanka, Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne said.
At present the blood plasma is exported to manufacture drugs and it is a temporary measure, he added.
He made these remarks addressing the ceremony held to mark the National Blood Transfusion Day at BMICH recently.
He said, the details of the organizers of blood donation camps will be computerized. “The blood given by donors are not wasted but is protected for 10 years.”
