    President graces 'Samata Sevana' housing project

    President Maithripala Sirisena graced the 'Samata Sevana' Virusumithuru house handing over ceremony held at the Temple Trees on Wednesday.

    About 192 houses were handed over to beneficiaries of tri forces, police and Civil Security Department at this event.

     

    Speaking at the event, President Sirisena said that he was happy to see the Virusumithuru housing project being carried out for the benefit of the War Heroes who had made great sacrifices to usher in peace and freedom to the nation by defeating ruthless LTTE terrorists.

     

    He said that the present government has done much to improve the welfare of the War Heroes and will continue to do so. He said that this housing program will enable to find lasting solutions for the housing issues of War Heroes. He also expressed his gratitude to all state agencies involved in the project.

     

    Minister of Housing and Construction Sajith Premadasa, State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene, Chairperson of the Ranaviru Seva Authority Mrs. Anoma Fonseka, IGP, senior tri forces officers and family members of the beneficiaries were also present on the occasion.
