Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe laid the foundation stone to build a national school in Maguruoyawatta, Kurunegala with an investment of Rs 1,000 million under the ‘Nearest School is the Best School’ program.
The school will consist of classrooms, aesthetic unit, speech room, laboratories, computer labs, smart class rooms, auditorium, indoor stadium, swimming pool, Principal and teacher quarters as well as a canteen.
The school will be constructed on a five-acre land and construction will be completed by 2020. This mixed school will have classes from grade one to thirteen.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
