    Divineguma Sixth phase in Moneragala

    The Economic Development Ministry has made an allocation of Rs. 80 million for the implementation of Divineguma projects in the Moneragala district this year. The sixth stage of the Divineguma program is to be implemented throughout the Moneragala district from October.

     

    More than 80 percent of households in every Grama Seva Division will receive a packet of seeds, a fruit sapling and vegetables plants under the sixth stage of the Divineguma program.

     

    Most of the households in villages in the district have already started growing vegetables and carrying out poultry farming under this program and a number of projects are in progress under various programs in the Badulla district.

     

    The government have already started construction of the Haputale Weekly fair under the puraneguma program for which the government allocated Rs. 17 million.

     

    The government has also allocated funds to improve sanitary facilities in schools adding that the project is also progressing smoothly. (ST/KH)
