    Radampola Sri Sumangala Maha Vidyalaya gets a Technical Laboratory

    One of the reasons for the introduction of the Technology subject stream was to avoid the creation of a generation of children who have passed the examinations but failed in life. Accordingly many students have benefited immensely with the Introduction of the technology subject to the school curriculum, said Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas Alahapperuma at the opening of a newly constructed Mahindodaya Technology Laboratory at the Sri Sumangala Maha Vidyalaya at Radampola, Urugamuwa in Dickwella.

     

    He also said that technical and vocational training was brought to the village with the establishment of the Vocational Training Authority in 1994 when President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the Labour and Vocational Training Minister and now technical training has been given national recognistion.


    Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Southern Provincial Education Minister Chandima Rasaputhra and SPC Member Kanchana Wijesekara also addressed the ceremony. (ST/KH)
