Accordingly, out of 120 Cey-Nor employees, 60 employees who did not receive their salaries and increments according to the government procedures received at this special ceremony. A total sum of six million rupees was incurred in this regard. The remaining employees and those who had retired will be paid their due arrears in due course.
The Cey-Nor Foundation, introduced as a non-profit venture from 1998 is now progressing as a profitable venture while reducing its loss. This was possibledue to the dedication of its staff, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said.
At present, the Cey-Nor Foundation is the owner of the most modern boatyard in Sri Lanka and now have the ability to build any type of fishing vessel including sea ambulances.They are also experts of marine constructions in the country.
Accordingly, the Cey-Nor Foundation as a government institution does a laudable service fulfilling the country’s requirement of fishing vessels and marine constructions, the minister said.
Cey-Nor Foundation is an institution affiliated to the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry.
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Deputy Minister Sarath Kumara Gunaratne, Cey-Nor Foundation Chairman Kumar de Silva, Director Board and staff were present.(KH)
