Issuing a statement, the elections secretariat said all hoardings, posters and decorations have to be removed by the 18th of this month and the secretariat has deployed officers to inspect the two districts over election law violations.

The Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya said all political party offices should be closed by the 19th of September.

He added, unauthorized offices will be forcibly closed by election officers. The Elections Commissioner also requested candidates and supporters to corporate with the department to conduct a free and fair election.
