    Trade transactions between Vietnam and Sri Lanka to be further expanded

    The religious, societal and cultural relations between Vietnam and Sri Lanka dates back to more than 40 years.

     

    A new project has being launched to provide rice and other finished goods from Vietnam to Sri Lanka to further expanding the relations between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. The new project will be carried out in parallel to the programme of further solidifying religious, societal and cultural relations between the two countries.

     

    During a meeting Vietnam’s new Ambassador to Sri Lanka Phan Kieu Tha- had with Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratnem this process has been discussed.

     

    Vietnam's New Ambassador Phan Kieu Tha said trade transactions between Vietnam and Sri Lanka should be further strengthened and he desires to purchase goods produced in Sri Lanka.

     

    Prime Minister Jayaratne also expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese diplomat for the support given by Vietnam to Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council.
