First they visited Weerasingam Hall which is being constructed under the advice and guidance of Minister Douglas Devananda. They learnt from relevant officials about the ongoing work at the site. The Hall had not been renovated for a very long period but now it has become a reality due to the effort taken by the Minister. The main entrance of the Hall depicts the traditional and cultural values where as the interior is full of modern facilities. President Mahinda Rajapaksa will Chair the Special Development Meeting for the five districts - Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitheevu, Vavuniya and Mannar of Northern Province.

They inspected the ongoing work at the Jaffna railway station too. The Jaffna Main Railway Station will officially be opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Secretary to the Governor Ilangovan, GA Jaffna Suntharam Arumainayagam, Jaffna District Commander General Maj. Gen. Udaya Perera and former Mayor of Jaffna Yogeswary Patkunarasa were present at the inspection.(KH)
