    Awareness program for 5,000 farmers at Kegalle

    Ministry of Land, Agriculture, Rural Development, Small Irrigation, Livestock Production, Fisheries and Wildlife Resources of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council has commenced a new project to increase awareness among farmers and people interested in agricultural and livestock trades.


    The awareness programme is intended to provide know-how to farmers to move ahead in production levels from the produce for consumption to produce for market.


    Launching ceremony of the project was held at the Training Centre of the Department of Animal Production and Health at Undugoda in Kegalle, recently. The awareness programme provides theoretical and practical training to 250 agriculture and livestock farmers a day. It is envisaged to train 5,000 farmers in the province, sources in the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council said. (Special Reporter)
