The discussion focused on the mode of contribution that should be given to strengthen economy and living standards of rural community. The European Union's Ambassador said that bringing the conflict to an end is a great opportunity for the country. He discussed about the problems faced by the rural community in each Provincial Secretariat divisions and the course of action that has been initiated at present. Special attention was drawn to poverty, educational short comings, nutritional status, permanent housing facilities, sanitary facilities, water conservation methods and tendency for drug addiction among estate community. Special attention was drawn to Divineguma Development Programs.

 

 

With the inspection tour made by Ambassaodr Daly, it is expected to have European Union's contribution  in 2015 for the development projects to uplift the rural economy of the districts in Nuwara Eliya, Badulla and Moneragala.
