He expressed these sentiments while addressing the gathering at a function organized to present 'Letters of Service Confirmation' for non-permanent (contract-basis) Management Assistant (grade III officers) of the Ranaviru Seva Authority (RSA) at the Ministry Boardroom. Meanwhile, those who perform duties under temporary, casual and replacement basis for over 5 to 10 years were also received the Service Confirmation during the session.

Chairperson of the RSA Mrs. Padma Wattawa was also present at the event.

As projected in the Budget proposals - 2015 by His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, over 18 Grade III Management Officers who performed duties were absorbed into the permanent cadre under the patronage of Secretary Defence.

In accordance with the Mahinda Chinthana Policy Manifesto, this measure was initiated with a view of further strengthening the everlasting Ranaviru welfare process.

Mihindu Seth Medura and Abimansala are some of the key initiatives that launched to look after the dependent war heroes. In addition, Respective Seva Vanitha Unites (SVU) of the Tri-Forces and SVU of the Ministry of Defence are also enormously involved in the Ranaviru Welfare programmes.

Military Liaisons Officer of the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development (MOD&UD) Major General (Rtd) Palitha Fernando, Assistant Secretary of the MOD&UD Ms. Malkanthi Rajapaksa, Senior officials of the RSA including officers those who received permanent appointments were also present at the occasion.(KH/MoD)
