The government was of the opinion that students should have the skills of growing food crops and they should be encouraged to grow and admire varieties of fruits and vegetables.  Accordingly teacher trainees in 18 national colleges of education would be trained on proper gardening too in addition to the specific subject areas that thy are supposed to follow during their training.(ST/KH)
