    Sri Lanka invites Pakistan to invest in Housing and Infrastructure

    High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, Air Chief Marshal Jayalath Weerakkody has invited Pakistan to invest in housing and infrastructure projects in Sri Lanka. Weerakkody has proposed Pakistan to increase investments in Sri Lanka when he called on Pakistan's Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Thursday.

    The Finance Minister welcoming the High Commissioner has said that the feeling of friendship is shared by both the sides and Pakistan would like to expand it further, Associate Press of Pakistan reported.

     

    The Sri Lankan Envoy has told the Pakistani Minister that many other regional investors are also making investment in Sri Lanka in this sphere.

     

    The Minister said that proposal was a worth consideration and he would like Pakistani investors to expand their horizons.

     

    The Sri Lankan High Commissioner has also discussed the current political situation of the country with the Finance Minister and said that the diplomatic community supports democracy in Pakistan.

    Finance Minister has extended his best wishes for the upcoming presidential elections in Sri Lanka and said Pakistan would continue to work with Sri Lanka in future to promote mutual goodwill and cooperation.
