The Minister made this statement at the foundation laying ceremony of a municipal housing scheme consisting of 45 houses for underserved communities at Seethawaka in Avissawella on Tuesday (09).
On that occasion the imperialists were successful, but today in 2015 it will be the reverse as the people are lined up against foreign forces. Today we are living at a time when the country is marching forward. The dark clouds that were above us have dried up and a new light of development is shining bright. All villages in the country are in the throes of development. These housing projects are being done with money that was spent on guns and bombs, a few years ago. Anyone who is not politically blind would be able to see for themselves the development that has taken place in 2010 to 2014. We are now walking on a road where the common peoples’ aspirations are being fulfilled. But, it must also be remembered that there are certain parties who are not happy with these development.
