At the outset of the programme a plaque was also unveiled by the Chief Guest. The mega housing project embedded with a number of infrastructure development schemes would bring an unprecedented growth into the entire region.
Meanwhile, addressing the gathering Rajapaksa said that, by way of Urban Development Authority led project plan this mega housing scheme was commenced at the request made by the Minister Thondaman. Thus far, Projects implemented under the patronage of Ministry of Urban Development have been completed and vest on public punctually, he said.
Further speaking he mentioned that, since the dawn of peace, an unprecedented development could be seen in the all places of the country. Simultaneously, the road net-work around the country has also been developed, he also said.
He reiterated that, in parallel with the growth, hard won peace must be protected and carried forward accordingly. Minister Thondaman took every effort to make this a reality, he also noted. Paying much emphasis on the request made by the Minister Thondaman and the Deputy Minister Sivalingam he stated that, they discussed matters related to Estate Sector workers in several occasions in my office. So we have earmarked town areas in this region which are imperative to be developed under the urban development, he added.
