    Six Technical laboratories in Western and Wayamba Provinces handed over to schools

    Under the Mahindodaya 1000 secondary schools development project, several schools equipped with technical laboratories in the Western and Wayamba Provinces were handed over to school children by Minister for Education Bandula Gunawardena, recently.

    Western Provincial Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga was present at the ceremony when technical laboratories established in the Udugampola Senarath Paranavithana Vidyalaya, , Devapola Ananda Vidyala and Burullapitiya Maha Vidyalaya in the Western Province were handed over to the students.

     

    The Minister for Education, Bandula Gunawardena handed over the Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories at the Nirmala Matha Maha Vidyala, Al Aksha National School, Kadayamottai Muslim Maha Vidyalaya on the same day.

     

    Each Mahindodaya Technical Laboratory comprises a 40 Computer Lab for information technology, a Language Laboratory with 20 computers, A Nenasa Unit for Distance Education and a Mathematics Laboratory. The cost of a Mahindodaya Technical Laboratory is 20 million rupees.(NJ/KH)
