Malaysia has been placed second, next to Sri Lanka, in the use of Information Technology among developing countries in Asia. Countries such as India and China are behind Sri Lanka. The use of internet in Sri Lanka had increased from 18 percent to 21.9 percent last year.

Also Sri Lanka has been placed in the third position among countries in the world providing internet services at the lowest monthly fee. 95.5 percent of Sri Lanka’s population have registered mobile phone connections while 16.4 percent of the population uses domestic computers.

Sri Lanka has also reached the 16 position among countries in which the Governments are making the highest contribution for Information Communication Technology.
