At the Parliamentaryl Election scheduled for August 17, ten Parliamentarians will be appointed for the Galle District from the electoral divisions Galle, Habaraduwa, Admeemana, Baddegama, Hiniduma, Benthara-Elpitiya, Karandeniya, Balapitiya, Ambalangoda and Ratgama.
According to 2014 Electoral Register, 819,666 voters in the Galle District are eligible to cast their votes.
During the period of acceptance of nominations, the Police has taken strict security measures within the Galle District Secretariat premises.
