At the forthcoming general election out of 37,500 voter applications received, 33,500 voters have become eligible to cast postal votes in the Galle District.
At the forthcoming Parliamentary Election, around 14000 government officers will be deployed for election duties, in the Galle District.
Except for two minor incidents, the pre-election environment in the Galle District is peaceful, said our Galle District Information Officer, Sahan Hewa Gamage.
Postal voting for Sri Lanka's upcoming parliamentary elections will be held on 5th and 6th of August. An additional date on August 3rd has been allocated for school teachers to cast their postal votes.
