The government is taking continuous efforts to resettle all families displaced by the armed conflict in North and East. At present, 232,828 families (796,342 members) are resettled in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.

The provision of access to electricity, water, sanitation etc. to resettled families is a responsibility of the government.

The joint proposal made by the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Ministry of Resettlement, Reconstruction and Hindu Religious Affairs was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers
