The Met Dept. forecasts several spells of showers to occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and central provinces and the Galle and Matara districts. Showers can be expected at several places in the Northwestern province too.
Thundershowers may develop at a several places in the North central, Uva and Eastern provinces during the period from 4 pm to 8 pm.
The Met Dept. also says Southwest monsoonal winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times over the country (particularly over central hills) and Northwestern & Southeastern sea areas.
