The Sri Lankan delegation to the UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva is due to leave the island today. The United National Human Rights Council Office said that the Geneva sessions will commence on the 14th and continue until the 02nd of next month.

It is reported that Sri Lanka is due to be represented by Ministers Mangala Samaraweera and Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa.

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal who arrived in the island recently stated that the UN Human Rights Council would be apprised of the measures taken by the present Government with respect to reconciliation and human rights. Nisha Biswal further said that measures would be taken to present a Resolution expressing support to Sri Lanka.
