The National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry has requested the public to support health officials who visit households by cleaning their premises during this period. It also requests households to remove collections of water from their surroundings to prevent Dengue.

According to the National Dengue Control Unit of the Health Ministry, 19,888 cumulative cases have been reported since 1st January 2015.

During the month of August 1,426 suspected dengue cases have been reported from across the island.
