According to the Local Authorities Elections (AMENDMENT) Act, No. 22 OF 2012, a report has to be submitted to the President after finishing the boundary determination.  But the delay to submit that report has been caused to postpone the election, minister said.

“The Committee of Appeal received about 2000 appeals. We will decide the boundaries with at least 1000 wards, according to those appeals,” Minister said.

According to the Minister Musthapha the possibilities are strong the elections will take place in June or July in this year.
