Minister further said that there are some information that should be protected  while other information can be given. As a means of protecting the identity of the persons who provide information, this type of information will not be divulged. This in any way will not reduce the importance of the RTI Act . The office will find the information and when required hand it over to the court.

Deputy Minister Paranawithana said the office doesn’t have legal rights, but if some evidence has to be sent to another country Sri Lanka and the said country should sign an agreement.
